Strange question isn't it? But if you're a total wing nut like us its simple. A KUSTOM KOFFIN is anything you customize; add engine modifications to, and of course are willing to strap yourself in or on. A creation of such a wicked machine is immeasurable and truly unexplainable, yet many of us try. Being pressed into your seat or damn near having your arms ripped off under serious acceleration is just a wonderful experience. The outcome of speed is never a certain one. Unfortunately many never get to ride or drive again after their KUSTOM KOFFIN comes to a stop. And still we all dare to tame the beast we create, continuously putting it all on the line for that one last thrill. But really, is there anything better? Not for us! We spend our time and money resurrecting the forgotten, and customizing the future of hot rodding or anything else we can get our hands on. We can't leave anything alone, our end table was made from a chrome 396-C crankshaft. Even our 1980's snow sled has a B&M shifter handle and a pinstripe flame job. We have been involved in almost every type of project you could think of. From big 550 cid chassis cars running in the 7's, muscle cars, roadsters, circle track, sprint cars, imports, pro-stock rearends, back halves, roll cages, interior, electrical, to paint and body work . Not to mention, if we can think it we can fab it. Nothing is impossible, of course unless it just doesn't hold up after we beat the hell out of it. We are not avid book or magazine readers, just real hard core, stay up all night working on our project type of guys. We fabricate, build, and assemble almost everything in a two car garage, even our apparel. Truth be told, gasoline runs through our veins 24/7 along with all the metal pieces we still can't get out. Our products express to the world that being a motor head is something you are, not something you do. It is for the most part a lifestyle. Its culture is diverse, but still shares a common bond. There are so many things that each of us experience with our cars, trucks, boats, and motorcycles. We all talk about them but still to this day nobody has yet to put it out there. Customizing anything is about the journey, not what part you just bought. Your creation is a fire breathing version of you. Designed by you, built by you, and is a collaboration of your ideas. If it was just about the parts then that would make it easy. Sculpting something different and thinking outside the box is what makes this country great. We would also like to share with you, the heart, soul, and foundation of KUSTOM KOFFINS. After building muscle and race cars for the past 13 years we decided to do something wild, different, slightly insane, often called twisted, and wicked enough to turn every head at any gathering. In June 2005 we sketched up something unique to build. We wanted it to break all the rules. In Sept. 05, we got our chance to start this nightmare of a project. And most people agree, it is a labor of love to build something you can proudly put your name on. After 1 year and over 2500 hours our nightmare had become a reality. We named it THE REAPER'S RIDE. It symbolizes all that makes a hot rod a hot rod. In Nov. 2006, we brought it out into the public and were overwhelmed by its acceptance. This KUSTOM KOFFIN is exactly that, our personal Koffin. And capable of putting us 6ft under with only a crack of the throttle and the will to never let off. Shortly after November of 2006 Kustom Koffins and KoffinApparel.com had began to take shape. We designed up a small product line, took in ideas from other avid gearheads and are still expanding. Our goal is to be the first apparel company to emphasize on what really fits our lifestyle, and stay true to the garage dwellers and backyard builders that we are. |
